Education Foundation Steering Committee

The Education Foundation Steering Committee (EFSC) was formed and staffed at the direction of the Superintendent of Schools to continue the work of the Budget & Revenue Advisory Task Force (established by Resolution, May 28, 2013).

The central recommendation contained within the Final Report of the Budget & Revenue Task Force (dated March 25, 2014) is “the establishment of a nonprofit educational foundation interlocking with the Portland School District to raise substantial private funds for critical “at-risk” elements."

To this end, the EFSC is charged with conducting research, studying options and making recommendations for the establishment of an education foundation. Deliverables to include: policy recommendation, operational guidelines, resource requirements, governance structure, proposed mission and vision statements, and year-one implementation plan.
