Deering High School drama students will showcase their skills as playwrights this month when they present a series of one-act plays written and directed by students.

The plays will be performed at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 13, and Saturday, Jan. 14, at the Deering High School auditorium. The school is located at 370 Stevens Avenue.

Tickets cost $5 and are general admission.

The plays are: “Dr. Bishop,” by Cameron Wood; “Hint,” by Ellis Craig; “Revolution & Revelry,” by Austin Hollifield-Nauta and Dylantha Musonerwa; and “Snowball,” by Joel Kahn.

One of the four plays will be selected to advance to the Regional Maine Drama Festival competition in March, according to English/Drama teacher Kathleen Harris. The competition will take place March 10 and 11 at Lawrence High School in Fairfield.
