First- and second-grade students in the Many Rivers program at Hall Elementary School have been learning about the water cycle in collaboration with Kat Munson at the Cumberland County Soil and Water Conservation District (CCSWCD) and local artist Sarah Boyden.  Students now have created an illustrated “story walk” that will officially open this month along the Capisic Brook trail behind the school.

Over the course of this project, students learned about the water cycle through interactive, hands-on experiences as well as research in books and online.  Students have produced an original story that tells about the water cycle as a culminating exercise. Under Boyden's leadership, students used various media to create the artwork that will accompany their story.  The project will be mounted as a permanent installment of 10 panels along the Capisic Brook trail behind Hall School.

The ribbon-cutting for this installation will be held on June 6 at 5 p.m., after which the story walk will be open for the public to enjoy for a long time to come.
